AIA Philadelphia Mobile Bookstore 

AIA Philadelphia engaged Studio 6mm to design and build its mobile bookshop in 2015. In addition to presenting materials for sale in an elegant way, this pop-up retail booth needed to be able to be assembled and disassembled without power tools in less than two hours due to assembly constraints in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The final product relied on traditional wood construction techniques, ten foot long wood staves, and pre-finished baltic plywood panels. The bookshop was prepared in our fabrication shop, delivered to the convention center in 132 pieces, and fitted together with two wooden mallets and four phillips head screwdrivers in one hour and forty five minutes.
